  1. An Emperor’s Grief (Opera Excerpt)
    (Lee Koon Ying as Emperor Tang Ming Huang)
    A melancholic episode of romance in the Tang Dynasty (AD618 - 907) describing the grief of Emperor Tang Ming Huang over the death of his favourite concubine Yang Kwei Fei whose execution he had personally sanctioned to appease his army to fight against the invading barbarians and protect his kingdom.

  2. Stealing The Magic Herb from "Madam White Snake" (Opera Excerpt)
    (Chinese Theatre Circle’s Children Opera Class. Participating artists include Kevin Keung Ka Wai,Claire Keung Ka Yee, Caren Keung Ka Yan, Catherine Kwok Kar Yue,Kelvin Kwok Kar Wai,Elizabeth Tham Sin Rue,Wang Zhi Ying,Wang Hao Yang, Samuel Lee Jun Leong,Calvin Tan Wei Wen, Ashley Tan Wei Jun.)
    An extract from the beautiful legend of "Madam White Snake" it depicts Madam White Snake’s undaunted spirit when she goes alone to Kun Lun Mountains to steal the magic herb in order to revive her husband Xu Xian. At the mountains she is stopped by a group of heavenly guards. A fierce battle ensues. Madam White Snake finally succeeds in getting the magic herb. An action packed episode performed by children aged between three and thirteen.

  3. Burying Flower Petals from "Dream Of The Red Chamber" (Opera Excerpt)
    (Ang Cheng Hong as Jia Bao Yu and Annie Wong as Lin Dai Yu)
    One of the touching episodes from the famous Chinese novel "Dream Of The Red Chamber". The frail Lin Dai Yu suspects that Jia Bao Yu is unfaithful after she has overheard a conversation between Jia Bao Yu and his cousin in his chamber on the previous night. She laments her pitiful plight as she buries the fallen flower petals in her garden. Jia Bao Yu, upon hearing her lament, senses that something is amiss. Lin Dai Yu pours out her heart whereupon Jia Bao Yu quickly dispels her misunderstanding and jealousy.The couple hence resumes their intimate friendship.

  4. Happy Union from "The Magic Lantern" (Opera Excerpt)
    (Kwok Kwong Luen as Liu Yan Cang and Chan Mei Leng as Goddess of Hua Shan and other dancers)
    A colourful scene from the beautiful legend "The Magic Lantern" . A scholar Liu Yan Cang suffers injuries after being bitten by a heavenly dog. He is nursed and cured by the Goddess of Hua Shan who in a moment of sentimental appreciation of Liu’s scholastic skills, falls in love with him and marries him. On their wedding day the flower fairies converge in the goddess residence and offer their congratulations.

  5. A Romantic Hallucination from "Dream Of The Red Chamber" (Opera Excerpt)
    (Shi Xiu Xian from China (PRC) as Lin Dai Yu and Yee Lye Meng as Jia Bao Yu and other dancers)
    Adapted from the famous Chinese novel "Dream Of The Red Chamber". This is the finale of the story of romance between Jia Bao Yu and Lin Dai Yu written by Hong Kong playwright Ye Shao De. It depicts the hallucination of Jia BaoYu when he returns to the Red Chamber to pay respects to the deceased Lin Dai Yu. By then Jia Bao Yu has become a Buddhist monk after he has refused to go through a prearranged marriage with his cousin. In his moment of grief Jia Bao Yu goes into a hallucination in which he meets his lover Lin Dai Yu. Jia asks Lin to bring him along as well. Lin refuses and enlightens him explaining that there is a radical difference between heaven and earth. On this note Lin departs with the other fairies. When Jia Bao Yu wakes up he realises that it has been a dream.
